Family Open House: Thank You!
Thank you to all the families who came out on Thursday evening! It was great to have you here to support and learn along with us!
Family Engagement Committee Survey
The Family Engagement Committee has created a survey to learn more about how you want to engage with the Curley this year. Please fill it out by Saturday, October 5th so that we can create more opportunities for families to engage with the school this year. If you have any questions, reach out to Jocelyn Stanton at jocelyn.stanton@gmail.com
September SPC Meeting Minutes
Thank you to the many Curley caregivers who joined us for our first School Parent Council meeting of the year on the 18th.
If you were unable to join us you can read the meeting minutes and learn about the many ways you can volunteer to support the students and teachers at the Curley.
Our next meeting will be Wednesday, October 16th from 8:45-9:45am.
Curley Fall Fling Update
The Fall Fling is drawing near! Mark your calendars: Friday, October 18th from 5:30-8pm!
We hope you will attend and would love your help to prepare or at the event. If you think you can help out (no contribution to small!) check our our planning website and/or sign up to volunteer.
Also, watch for Raffle tickets to come home in your child’s backpack next week and please buy/sell them—we have great prizes this year!
If you have any questions or would like to get involved contact Katrina (katrina.brink@gmail.com).
Walk to School Day: Tuesday, October 2nd
Our school is participating in the Annual Fall Walk to School Day on Wednesday, October 2nd, and we invite you to “join the movement!” Did you know that walking to school helps students arrive ready to learn? Like eating a healthy breakfast, physical activity gives our brain the boost it needs to focus. And we want our students to be prepared for the school day.
This event is part of Safe Routes to School Boston, a city-wide effort to promote walking to school, by rallying neighborhoods and the community as a whole to work toward making walking to school safe, popular, and fun. The Curley Health and Wellness Committee is leading the effort for our school.
Register for the walk ahead of time, or just show up at 7:45 am on October 2nd at one of the following locations:
- Spring Park Avenue and Chestnut Avenue
- Stop & Shop at 301 Centre Street
- South Street and Sedgwick Street
Contact Emily Cavanagh (etcavanagh@gmail.com) with questions.
Kickball Court Cleanup: Sunday, October 6th

Please sign up to volunteer for a brief leadership slot: https://www.wejoinin.com/sheets/fycyf To help out in general, please just show up whenever you can! All are welcome.
