Paw Prints – September 27

Health Trainings for Families: We understand this is a stressful time and wanted to help those who are planning to have their children come into the building by hosting information sessions with our school nurses around health and safety protocols. In our sessions we will be going over the daily checklist for parents as well as scenarios you may encounter and what to do. This will also be an opportunity to gain further clarity on expectations for this year. It will be great to hear from you as we welcome our students back into our school. For more information please contact our Family Liaison Manny Hernandez at ehernandez@bostonpublicschools.org

School Parent Council: Join the School Parent Council and Principal Grassa Wednesday evening, September 30th from 6:00-7:00pm for a SPC meeting via Zoom.

In addition to connecting with our community, we will share ways that caregivers can volunteer their time to support our students and teachers during this unique year and discuss SPC goals for 2020-21. We have many open SPC and SSC elected roles and committee leadership roles that need to be filled including SPC co-chairs, co-secretaries, and co-treasurer. If you are interested in learning more about these opportunities please email spc@curleyk8.com. Descriptions of the positions can be found HERE.

Register in advance for this meeting:

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. We look forward to connecting with you all on Wednesday and in the weeks and months to come!

Students Reporting 10/1: We are thrilled to welcome a small number of students on 10/1/20. If parents are dropping off or picking up please keep in mind that we are dismissing them from outside of the building and that our outdoor play area needs to be cleaned after school so we cannot have families use it in the afternoon.

CENSUS 2020: BTU President Jessica Tang shared with school leaders the idea of assigning homework to students where they ask their family about completing the United States Census. The Census is important and one of the many things it does is impacts the funding to our schools! Please complete it here https://2020census.gov/en.html and we encourage you to talk to your child(ren) about this too!
