Report Cards – Term 1 Ends for all students on December 3rd. K-8 report cards will be distributed the week of 12/13/21.

COVID-19 VACCINE CLINIC at the Curley K-8: We will offer a 2nd vaccine clinic on 12/13/21 for students, staff and families to receive the 2nd dose. 

Monday, December 13th from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. SAVE THE DATE!!!

• All students ages 5 and up can receive their vaccine. It will be Pfizer.
• All families can receive their vaccine here on Monday too! It will be Pfizer.
• We are NOT requiring proof of identification if you want the vaccine. Nor is there pre-registration, anyone can access this vaccine clinic.
• All students should be accompanied by their caregiver 
• Entrance will be from the Pershing rd. Lower School
• 1st, 2nd, and booster is offered.

In case you would like to get a COVID-19 vaccine before, here is another clinic that is offering vaccines on December 4th.

LEARN TO SKATE AT THE KELLY RINK THIS WINTER! https://friendsofthekellyrink.org/, 30-minute lessons are offered Saturday mornings, January 8-March 26 (8 lessons total), $80 season cost – full scholarships available upon request, Skate rental during lessons included in cost – no additional equipment required, US Figure Skating Association accredited program, online registration opens December 1. The scholarships are available at sign-up.  It is a no-questions-asked select your own level of scholarship needed.

Beyond the skate lessons, low-cost skate rentals ($3/kids and $5/adults) are available throughout the season at the Kelly Rink. The Kelly Rink is an open-air free public rink operated by the DCR, open typically December-March (weather permitting).

K-2 grades. Boston Saves, we want to let you know that all K2 families received an email invitation last week from bostonsaves@boston.gov with a unique link that will take them to the Savings Center where they can create a password, see the $50 for their child and find out about incentives they can participate in to earn more money for their child’s college or career training.  This same invitation was sent to families in 1st and 2nd grade who also received the $50 when their child was in K2 but have not signed in to the Savings Center yet.

5th to 7th grades. Interested in learning ways to help your kids make good choices? Are you a parent/guardian of a child in 5^th-7^th grades? Tufts University is looking for parents/guardians to participate in a research study. 6th grade. It is recruitment time again at Achieve. Each year, Achieve enrolls a cohort of 6th graders into their program. Unfortunately, we have not had success in getting Curley families to commit to this amazing program. Please take a moment to learn about Achieve and its referral criteria. If you have a child that would benefit from this program, please email at ssantos2@bostonpublicschools.org with Ms. Santos.

About Achieve: 

• Achieve partners with families to empower motivated students from Boston to close the opportunity gap. We provide transformative academic and enrichment programming from middle school through high school and college. 
• The Achieve Program offers hardworking and motivated students a $15,000 scholarship so that you can attend our program for FREE for three years.
• Throughout the three years, students will: 

• Receive free transportation to our summer program at the Noble and Greenough School and free breakfast and lunch. 
• Attend Saturday sessions twice a month during the 2022-2023 & 2023-2024 academic school year.
• Commit to attending our 5 and a half week summer program for three years (Summer 2022, Summer 2023, & Summer 2024). 
• Complete homework assignments that will help deepen their learning (attendance and homework completion are required). 
• Receive High School Placement support (as needed). 

• After completing your three year commitment, Achieve will continue supporting you throughout high school and applying to college. 

Our Scholars

• The Achieve Program is looking for: 
  • Current sixth grader attending a Boston Public School or Boston Charter School. 
  • Students who are motivated and eager to learn and improve their skills in Science, Math, Reading, and Writing.
  • Students who are committed to attending all three years of our program and to working hard in order to get more opportunities in life.
  • Students who are excited to meet peers from other schools in Boston and be part of a fun and inclusive community.

CLÍNICA DE VACUNAS COVID-19 en Curley K-8: Ofreceremos una segunda clínica de vacunas el 13/12/21 para que los estudiantes, el personal y las familias reciban la segunda dosis.

Lunes 13 de Diciembre a partir de las 3:00 p.m. hasta las 7:00 p.m. ¡¡¡Guarda el dia!!!

• Todos los estudiantes de 5 años en adelante pueden recibir su vacuna. Será Pfizer.
