COVID Prevention Support: Thank you for your continued partnership. As part of our efforts to curb the COVID-19 virus we sent each child home with a rapid test kit on Friday. Each kit has two tests inside. We are asking all families to test their child either Sunday night or Monday morning before returning to school. Students who feel sick should stay home from school.

Thank you for understanding and please reach out to our nurses if you have any questions.

MCAS: MCAS testing in grades 3-8 will continue in May. We ask families to make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and arrives at school on time so they can eat breakfast and be focused and ready for the test. Below is the testing schedule.

Supports for Families with Children with Autism: It is about grants that are open for families who have a child with Autism. https://www.aane.org/resources/family-and-friends/family-grants/

COVID Take Home Tests: Starting March 7, in addition to the routine weekly pool testing and symptomatic testing, BPS, in partnership with DESE, will begin offering free, weekly take-home antigen tests. In order for your student to participate in this new option, DESE, the state department of education requires parents/guardians to specifically sign up for this at-home rapid testing option. If you would like your student to receive a weekly take home test, you must submit a permission form. Please note this form is a different form than the one you may have signed earlier this year for testing.

Please check your email for an email from “permission click”, which allows you to digitally sign your students permission form. Please note, this email may be in your junk mail folder.

For students who have submitted a permission form, every two weeks starting on the week of March 7th, students will receive an iHealth At-Home Rapid Test kit. Each kit contains two individual tests. We ask that these tests be used 3 to 4 days following your student’s pool testing at school. If your child tests positive, we ask that you report the positive result to your child’s school immediately via phone and follow isolation protocols outlined on the BPS webpage COVID-19 Health & Safety Information / Quarantine Protocols.

Please take a moment to fill out the online sign-up form from Permission Click as soon as possible so we can get your student an at-home test today! It only takes a minute to complete. If you have multiple children at BPS, please fill out a sign up form for each child. You can sign-up at any time to begin receiving the at-home antigen test for the next distribution date.

For more information on these iHealth antigen tests, please refer to COVID-19 Self-Test at Home Instructions Graphic | Mass.gov

Family COVID Protocol Visual: We recognize that processing and understanding COVID protocols is incredibly overwhelming. The Curley Family Engagement Committee created a visual to try to support and help families to better understand what is happening at school and if your child tests positive for COVID 19. We hope you find this useful! If policies change we will update these visuals.
