The Schoolyard Improvement Committee is a growing group of Curley teachers, parents, and staff who are interested in caring for our grounds and revitalizing our gardens, including the outdoor classroom and the many raised garden beds elsewhere on campus. Our goal is to identify best practices and help connect any and all in the community who would like to work toward enriching our outdoor environment. So far, the group has worked to:
- organize fall and spring cleanups
- formalize teacher and parent engagement
- facilitate teachers’ access to garden beds
- spring clean the outdoor classroom
- inventory gardening supplies and needs
- engage BPS Facilities for support
- research external education/management services
- identify grant opportunities
Zoom meetings: Second Tuesday evenings at 8pm-8:30pm (https://simmons.zoom.us/j/96747586644)
Cleanup events: Third Sunday mornings from 10-12
