The Student Government has put together a second (and final) Spirit Week for this year! You can find the flier details below. The dates for Spirit Week will be May 23-27. Everyone is encouraged to participate.. Please contact Ms. Reider with any questions: mreider@bostonpublicschools.org. Thank you!!
Save the Date for Curley Yard Clean Up: We are asking any families who are interested and available to please help us clean up the school yard on Sunday, May 22nd 8:30am -10:30am and Sunday, June 5th. More details will come soon but if you are interested please email Curley parent Rebecca at rebecca@rebeccaclinemusic.com.
COVID Prevention Support: Thank you for your continued partnership. As part of our efforts to curb the COVID-19 virus we sent each child home with a rapid test kit on Friday. Each kit has two tests inside. We are asking all families to test their child either Sunday night or Monday morning before returning to school. Students who feel sick should stay home from school.
Thank you for understanding and please reach out to our nurses if you have any questions.

Arts Showcase: Thank you to all the families who came out to support our arts showcase! We were so happy to see you at school and to celebrate our amazing artists! Thank you to our students for your willingness to put your performing arts and visual arts skills on display to bring joy to our community!
Family Activity: For our facebook users, there is a NEW way to connect with the Curley community, we now have a PRIVATE Facebook Group, Curley K-8 School Families! The group is made up of parents/ caregivers of Curley students as well as Curley teachers, staff members and administrators. This is a great spot to post information about or seek answers to all things Curley related! In order to join you have to be a member of the Curley community and agree to the group rules. We hope you’ll join in on the conversation!
Support for Families with Children with Autism: It is about grants that are open for families who have a child with Autism. https://www.aane.org/resources/family-and-friends/family-grants/
COVID Take Home Tests: Starting March 7, in addition to the routine weekly pool testing and symptomatic testing, BPS, in partnership with DESE, will begin offering free, weekly take-home antigen tests. In order for your student to participate in this new option, DESE, the state department of education requires parents/guardians to specifically sign up for this at-home rapid testing option. If you would like your student to receive a weekly take home test, you must submit a permission form. Please note this form is a different form than the one you may have signed earlier this year for testing.
Please check your email for an email from “permission click”, which allows you to digitally sign your students permission form. Please note, this email may be in your junk mail folder.
For students who have submitted a permission form, every two weeks starting on the week of March 7th, students will receive an iHealth At-Home Rapid Test kit. Each kit contains two individual tests. We ask that these tests be used 3 to 4 days following your student’s pool testing at school. If your child tests positive, we ask that you report the positive result to your child’s school immediately via phone and follow isolation protocols outlined on the BPS webpage COVID-19 Health & Safety Information / Quarantine Protocols.
Please take a moment to fill out the online sign-up form from Permission Click as soon as possible so we can get your student an at-home test today! It only takes a minute to complete. If you have multiple children at BPS, please fill out a sign up form for each child. You can sign-up at any time to begin receiving the at-home antigen test for the next distribution date.
For more information on these iHealth antigen tests, please refer to COVID-19 Self-Test at Home Instructions Graphic | Mass.gov
Cafeteria Updates: We are thrilled to announce that we have returned to cooking in our kitchen! There are no more pre-packaged meals! Eat day we are offering hot menu choices as well as a salad bar! Menus are linked here.
Family COVID Protocol Visual: We recognize that processing and understanding COVID protocols is incredibly overwhelming. The Curley Family Engagement Committee created a visual to try to support and help families to better understand what is happening at school and if your child tests positive for COVID 19. We hope you find this useful! If policies change we will update these visuals.
